Charleston County Recycling's 2010 Earth Day Festival will be held on April 17 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in North Charleston's beautiful Park Circle.
The purpose of the Earth Day Festival is to increase awareness about the Lowcountry's environmental issues, while celebrating Charleston's environmental community and highlighting our challenges and successes.
The national Earth Day holiday will be held on Thursday, April 22. Earth Day was established as a holiday in 1970, and is now celebrated by a half-billion people around the world.
Charleston County’s Earth Day Festival attracts more than 8,000 people to the free event each year. All participants are asked to commit to reduce waste and to recycle while joining in the fun.
