The DT’z, a local band offering up heaping portions of slippery grooves offer up a set of trip laced originals for the 2009 Rolling Rock Battle of the Bands. Ascribing to the notion that “the song is boss” The DT’z have patiently crafted a sound that pays homage to everything from 70’s AOR, to trip heavy blues, inventive vocal scat, to industrial grooves. The DT’z serve up generous portions of sweet & crunch. What separates this bunch from standard fare is the original material. The diverse writing styles of guitarists Royce Wilson and Patrick Williams reveal a creative tension that infects The DT’z catalogue of originals with everything from swamp to romp, sweet to beat. Keyboardist Lee Clark’s frenetic perks and growls expand an already combustible sound, with truly engaging command of the instrument. Locking in the foundation for this ride is the kinetic pulse of Kris Corona on bass and Erich Semelka covering percussion. Let’s just say, if you dig bottom, you will dig this band. The newest member of the band, Corona’s infectious rumblings and fret board prowess drive an established groove with authority. Fronting this versatile 6 pc outfit is Brad Walker. Combining powerful vocals with an engaging visual presence, Walker leads this band of veteran musicians across a soundscape where dynamics shift from pedal steel and boogie harp, to B3 barrages and six string madness.

Offering a homegrown tonic for what ever ails you! Come on out and shake with The DT’z.
