IGFA partners with Florida Keys Outfitters to produce Inshore World Championship
Florida Keys Outfitters and the IGFA have announced their partnership in the IGFA Inshore World Championship, sport fishing's premier international fly and light tackle tournament event. Florida Keys Outfitters located in Islamorada, Fla., will take over the management of the Inshore World Championship in 2009, to begin the ninth year of this prestigious tournament event which attracts anglers from around the globe.

... The IGFA says the new partnership will allow the organization to concentrate on its core programs, namely conservation and angler education.

“The tournament has served as a means for us to get out information on the IGFA rules, ethics and conservation philosophies,” Myatt says. “This philosophy is mirrored by Florida Keys Outfitters and will provide the IGFA with a platform in Islamorada, where we have great partners and friends.”

IGFA CLUBS: IGFA Special Clubs: There is something for everyone who enjoys a challenge with the IGFA’s “Conservation Clubs”.
Only three of the clubs require that the catch be weighed. They are the 10 lb Bass, 10 lb Bonefish and 25 lb Snook Clubs. An angler that catches that species weighing at least that much is eligible for the club. The fish may be weighed in the boat on a certified scale and released to make it easier for the angler to qualify their catches without killing the fish. All weight clubs require a $25 (US) application fee. Read all pdf's http://www.igfa.org/clubs.asp
CAPTAINS & GUIDES: The International Game Fish Association (IGFA) Certified Captains Program is into its sixth year. We currently have 300 certified captains in 39 countries and territories plus 31 U.S. states. The program continues to grow with new captains signing up every week.

Our Village of Islands is situated between the saltwater wilderness of Everglades National Park in one direction and North America's only coral barrier reef and the deep blue waters of the Florida Straits in the other. Islamorada is comprised of six islands including Plantation Key, Windley Key, Upper Matecumbe Key, Lower Matecumbe Key and the offshore islands of Lignumvitae Key and Indian Key.
This might be the only place on Earth where it is possible to catch a sailfish in the morning, and then venture into the backcountry in pursuit of bonefish, permit, tarpon, snook and redfish in just inches of water.
