Welcome to the website of the 2008 Information without Borders conference!
Date: Friday March 14th and Saturday March 15th, 2008

The students of the School of Information Management at Dalhousie University's Faculty of Management are pleased to announce the 2nd annual conference: Information Without Borders. The theme of this year's conference is Information Management Sustaining Communities.

What is meant by Information Management Sustaining Communities?

Information is a valuable asset to society and how information is used can determine its worth. Communities are also vital to society and how they are created and sustained is of extreme importance to how a society flourishes.

This year's conference seeks to discuss key issues that will ensure lasting and effective ties within communities through the use of information. Discussion will centre on issues of usability, community development, planning and design, marketing, and creating relations between various community groups.
Conference Objectives

1. To explore the concepts and practices related to the role of the information profession in community leadership and sustainability.

2. To establish a collaborative environment in which professionals, academics, and students will be able to formally present their own innovations and accomplishments as well as participate in informal exchanges of ideas and expertise.

Please join us this year in embarking on this engaging and challenging topic.

We are in the process of finalizing the conference schedule and will be posting information as it is available. Keep checking back for more information about speakers and registration.
