2007 Time Out New York Student Guide Back to School Blowout September 16, 2007

Don’t miss the 2007 Time Out New York Student Guide Back to School Blowout, presented with Virgin Megastore, New York University and Union Square Partnership. Rock out with your student IDs out as the free Sunday afternoon festivities kick off the first round of Virgin Megastore’s first-ever Battle of the Bands competition, hosted by comedian Jon Fisch.

Hit Union Square Park’s south plaza at 12noon for an afternoon of free food, giveaways and live music featuring seven rock groups, ranging in ages 14-24, battling it out for a chance to go on to the final round at Virgin Megastore Union Square on September 20 at 7pm. The winning band will receive a consignment deal with Virgin Megastores across the US and the opportunity to attend a music seminar in LA with Immergent Records.

Bring your Student ID and pick up tons of giveaways from participating vendors including Blue Man Group, Gotham Comedy Club, Tigi Hairdressing Academy, Sephora, STA Travel, Strand Books, JetBlue, NY Philharmonic, Miller Theater, Roundabout Theater/HipTix program, Broadway’s Hairspray and Legally Blonde, the Food Bank For NYC and more, along with free grub from Big Daddy’s, Duke’s, Whole Foods, Piola, Guru Energy Drink and Gizzi’s Coffee.
