109 Northern California dance companies representing dance traditions from around the world will perform over 4 days hoping for a coveted spot in the 2007 San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival*. Artists present their very best work, in full costume & many with live musical accompaniment. The auditions offer the public a rare opportunity to see between 25 & 30 performances each day that span the globe including trick & fancy rope dances from the American Southwest, a daring Chinese lion dance performed atop 8 foot posts, sizzling Flamenco, rarely seen dances from West Africa, the intricate footwork of Indian kathak & much more. Anyone can watch for only $7 a day! So, grab a friend and make it a marathon, or bring the little ones for just an hour.
