NEW YORK, NY – Fresh from his win of the third annual Andy Kaufman Award, Reggie Watts brings his off the wall and entertaining musical comedy stylings to Comix! "Amazing and unlike anything you have ever seen,” said Eugene Mirman. “Unless you have seen a comedic stream of conscious operatic beat-boxing marvel. Then it's like that.”
Reggie is an internationally renowned vocalist/beatboxer/musician/comedian/improviser and founding member of the band Maktub and continues to work with the live electronic group SynthClub. He made his name playing and singing in various bands in the Seattle music scene through the 90's to now but has made shifts to comedic leanings in the last few years.
His comedic experience includes the New York/L.A. alternative comedy scenes, the Montreal, Cape Town and Edinburgh Comedy Festivals plus several BBC live radio events. His brand of comedy is self-coined as "dissinformationist”. In addition to the Andy Kaufman Award, he is winner of the 2005 Malcolm Hardee "Oye Oye" Award.
