Apple- Metro Inc., the New York Metro area franchisee for Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar, has announced it will – for the fifth year in a row – sponsor the 28th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Concert Series. Founded over 20 years ago, this free concert series is held Monday nights at Wingate Field in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn.

Music lovers from all five boroughs come to witness firsthand one of the most successful free concert series in the New York Metropolitan area. The Martin Luther King Jr. Concert Series entertains thousands of local Brooklyn residents and concert aficionados alike with a star-studded line-up of Gospel, Classic soul, Contemporary, Caribbean and R&B artists.

This year’s schedule includes:

July 19 – An Evening with Toni Braxton

July 26 – Musiq Soulchild; Chrisette Michele

August 2 – Old School Night
Salt-N-Pepa; Naughty By Nature; Slick Rick

August 9 – An Evening with Aretha Franklin

August 16 – Gospel Night
