Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar opens its 2,000th restaurant in the country with a big ceremony on Monday, December 14, 2009 at 10:30 am at One West 125th Street, Harlem, NY, as music great Curtis Bailey performs. This new Applebee’s created 150 more jobs in the Harlem community and marks Apple-Metro’s (franchisee) third opening this year and their 31st Applebee’s in the New York metropolitan area. Applebee’s Applebee’s Services International president, Mike Archer, will join Apple-Metro owners Zane Tankel and Roy Raeburn for the ceremonial ribbon-cutting celebration, along with the president of the Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce Lloyd Williams. Applebee’s Harlem will be open Monday to Thursday, from 11am to 1am; Friday and Saturday, from 11am to 1am; and Sunday from 11am to midnight. The proceeds from various events around the opening went to the Harlem week scholarship/grant program.
