What started as a hayride in 1991 has grown to be a Halloween institution and household name among horror junkies and haunted attraction enthusiasts across New England and beyond.
On Friday, Sept. 30, SpookyWorld will open for its 20th consecutive haunting season and continue its two-decade-long tradition of terrifying the public.
With six redesigned haunted attractions, victims will experience 40 acres of screaming excitement. Whether snakes make you squirm, heights make you tremble or bloodied chainsaw-toting-madmen send you running, no one is safe from what is lurking inside the largest scream park in New England.
Try to keep your footing in the caves and crypts of the Catacombs and enter the mind-bending labyrinth of the 3-D Freak Show, where a mutant army of freaks, evil clowns, and starving zombies reign. Take a disturbing trip through the woods to find the inhabitants of The Colony, just don’t let them find you first. Then navigate your way through the House of Eternal Darkness, just don’t disturb the creatures on the prowl. Try to escape the patients and doctors that dwell within Willow’s Asylum. Many entered seeking rehabilitation but never left, dying mysteriously under experimental treatments. Check your phobias at the door before entering TORMENT, where you’ll be face to face with arachnids, serpents, tight spaces and more.
Then catch your breath on the Monster Midway with sideshow attractions onsite: music nightly, Zombie paintball, go-cart racing, mini-golf, restaurants, bars and more. At SpookyWorld Halloween is not just a holiday but a destination.
