The Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) in collaboration with the National Center for Jewish Film and Goethe-Institut Boston presents the Boston premiere of 2 or 3 Things I Know About Him (2005), Malte Ludin’s gripping documentary about his father, Hanns Ludin, convicted Nazi war criminal, on April 19 at 7 p.m. 85 minutes. 35 mm. NR. In German and English with English subtitles. Tickets are $10 general admission; $8 members, students, and seniors, and can be purchased at icaboston.org, from the ICA box office, by phone at (617) 478-3103 during regular museum hours, or at the box office one hour before program.
Ludin’s provocative film examines the ways in which Hanns Ludin’s family wrestles with, or in some cases, refuses to acknowledge, the well-documented war crimes of their father, who was tried, convicted and put to death for war crimes in 1947. Malte Ludin’s film offers a rare look into what he calls “a typical German story,” of ordinary lives, touched by evil.
This screening is presented as part of the National Center for Jewish Film’s Jewishfilm.2007 festival.
