2 Beginning Salsa Classes for the New Year - Reno January 7, 2008

BB of Reno Truckee Salsa is offering a beginning Salsa dance class and a beginning Casino Rueda Dance class this January in Reno. If you’ve been thinking you want to try out salsa dancing now is the time. The Reno salsa scene is growing and this 6-week class will end right when there will be a huge salsa dance party for Valentine’s Day with a live salsa orchestra at Club Coco Boom on S. Virginia St. in Reno. You could fulfill a New Year’s resolution and have a plan set for Valentine’s Day all at once. BB of Reno Truckee Salsa will be teaching a 6-week Salsa Basics 1 class that covers the “basic step”, Rhythm, salsa body movement, partner technique in both open and closed position as well as some fun dance moves. The 6-week Salsa Basics 1 class will begin on Monday, January 7th at 6 pm (Actual instruction time is 50 minutes per night per class). If that’s not enough you can stick around for the 6-week Casino Rueda class that starts the same day at 7 pm. Casino Rueda is a group salsa dance from Cuba. It’s danced in a circle and partners are passed from one to another between executing fun turn sequences. Casino Rueda will get the laughs going and the heart rate up. Now’s the time to start Casino Rueda because an introductory class won’t be offered again until June 2008. Reno Truckee Salsa offers a total of 6 different levels of salsa and Casino Rueda. BB of Reno Truckee Salsa has been dancing salsa for over 10 years and has been teaching salsa for over 5 years. He currently studies with salsa dances top instructors from both the Bay are and the LA area. Currently he is studying with John and Liz of Salsamania in Oakland, CA (5th in the world this year) and Espie Hernandez of Rumba Rica in Orange County, CA. BB says he strives to share his love for the dance in a structured and entertaining environment. His students usually leave with smiles on their faces.

Classes will be held at Dancin! Performing Arts and Events Center on 3005 Skyline Blvd. in Reno. Class prices are $60 per person for a 6-week course or $105 for two 6-week courses. If you pay in full by Friday, January 4th the price is $55 for a 6-week course or $95 for two 6-week courses.
