1st Annual Oktoberfest: A Celebration of German Beers! October 18, 2008

Ladies, wear your dirndls, and guys, grab your lederhosen for an afternoon of authentic German beer, food, and live music as World Cafe Live presents its first annual OKTOBERFEST!

Join us for a truly traditional German Oktoberfest experience. World Cafe Live's 1st annual Oktoberfest Beer Festival will give attendees the opportunity to sample the offerings of approximately 30 authentic German breweries. Join us for an entire Saturday afternoon, strolling from booth to booth, educating your palate to the nuances of the Reinheitsgebot, the German purity law stating that only four ingredients malted barley, hops, yeast and water may be used in the brewing process. (The beers we present may also include types that do not abide by Reinheitsgebot).

Throughout the afternoon, you'll enjoy free live musical performances (artists to be announced) to add to the festive atmosphere. All participants will bring home as a souvenir the complimentary 6 oz. World Cafe Live logo pilsner glass provided for your sampling pleasure!

For those who prefer other libations, our full-service bar will also be open, selling sodas, wine and spirits.

Only German breweries will be featured, including:
Aktien Becks Bischoff Einbecker Flensburger Franziskaner Hacker-Schorr Klosterbrauerei Paulaner Schneider Spaten Warsteiner Weihenstephan Weltenburger and many more!

All brewing styles will be represented, including special Oktoberfest varieties!

Authentic German buffet offerings will include:
Bratwurst steamed in Spaten Oktoberfest
Bavarian-style pretzels with mustard and assorted dips and spreads
Sauerbraten
Alsatian cheese and Reissdorf Kolsch Fondue
Warm German potato salad
Dried apple and golden raisin strudel
