The Coolidge Corner Theatre was born on December 30, 1933. To celebrate its 75th anniversary, the theatre is hosting a year of special events, including a monthly classic film series presented by Trader Joe's.
The series kicks off with a double feature pairing two of the greatest films of 1933. In the Marx Brothers’ irreverent, anarchic masterpiece DUCK SOUP, Groucho tries to bail out the economy of Freedonia. Mervyn LeRoy & Busby Berkeley’s musical extravaganza GOLD DIGGERS of 1933 features Ruby Keeler and Joan Blondell as showgirls who save the day. The good folks from Trader Joe's will be on hand to give out delectable goodies for movie lovers to sample.
