Yarrow Coven announces 17th Annual Pagan Picnic, to be held at Tower Grove Park, St. Louis, Missouri. This year's Picnic will kick off at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 13th, 2009 with an opening ritual performed by Spirit Awakening.
Special Guests appearing this year include Oberon Zell-Ravenheart who is the founder of Grey School of Wizardry, "Living Legend" Grandmother Elspeth, authors M.R. Sellars, River and Joyce Higginbotham, W. Lyon Martin, Ellen Dugan and Zo Levy; Reverend Don Lewis and Ed Hubbbard, who are the founders of Witch School International and producers for Magick TV, artist Mickie Mueller, Reverend Rose White and Eric C. Friedman who is the founder of the Long Island Open Circle and Circle of Ancient Ways.
Following opening ritual, Picnic will be in full swing with events for all ages, including workshops for children and adults alike. Many vendors are expected to be selling their wares and a wide range of foods will be available, including Jimmy Ray's Country Cookin', Gene's Snowcones and returning favorites - Tango Argentina Food. A full schedule of regional performers including singers, bands, and belly dancers will grace our Bardic Circle with their talents, including Coyote Run, The Gypsy Nomads, Alabaster Brown and Ami Amore & Exotic Rhythms Belly Dance. Western Gate Ampgard will be presenting their brand of live-action role-play in the open fields of the park.
Events will continue on Sunday, June 14th, 2009 beginning at 10 a.m., with a closing ritual performed by Circle of Ancient Ways to end the event at 2 p.m.
St. Louis Pagan Picnic is one of the longest-running events of its kind in the Midwest. More than three thousand attendees partake of the event each year. The entire metropolitan community is invited to attend and participate in workshops and rituals, enjoy the entertainment in the Bardic Circle, purchase unique items from our vendors, and have the chance to learn a little about Pagan traditions and practices.
