17th Annual Junior Achievement EvergreenBank Golf Classic & Auction June 23, 2008

Golfers are being sought to participate in the 17th Annual Junior Achievement EvergreenBank Golf Classic & Auction at Sahalee Country Club on Monday June 23, 2008. Money raised will benefit Junior Achievement and the programs it runs to teach school children about finance and entrepreneurship.

This year's event promises to be the area's biggest and best tournament ever, with plenty of golf and camaraderie on one of America's top 100 courses - and of course contests and an auction. In its 16-year history, the event has raised more than $2 million to support Junior Achievement's many programs for kindergarten through high school students.

For the first time in the event's history, Sahalee Country Club Instructor Jim Pike will offer personalized instruction at a golf clinic for those who choose not to participate in the Golf Classic. The clinic will include swing mechanics, putting, chipping and technique, and includes a ticket to the event dinner and auction.

Reservations are still being taken to fill a few open slots and help Junior Achievement reach its fundraising goals. Single golfers ($940) and foursomes ($3,750) can be accommodated by registering at www.jawashington.org or by calling 206-969-2616. Clinic fee is $150. Sahalee Country Club, which will host the 2010 Senior Tour, is located at 21200 NE Sahalee Country Club Dr. in Sammamish.

The event includes lunch, green fees, cart rental, commemorative apparel, golf balls, dinner, auction, and team photo. Warm-up and putting contest begin at 10 a.m., followed by lunch and a shotgun start (scramble format). The cocktail reception and silent auction begin at 5 p.m., followed by dinner, live auction and golf awards. Title sponsor for the event is EvergreenBank.
