Organized by 1708 Gallery, InLight Richmond is a public exhibition of light-based art. InLight Richmond 2011 will take place along Richmond’s Downtown Riverfront at historic Tredegar.
The site of InLight Richmond 2011 will by transformed by 18 art installations selected by Juror Matthew Lyons, Curator at The Kitchen, in NY, presenting a mix of visual, performance and interactive art installed along the river and beach, sidewalks, historic buildings, walls and the surrounding grounds, train trestles, pedestrian bridges and more. The evening will also feature a series of performances.
InLight Richmond 2011 will kick off with a Community Lantern Parade. 1708 has organized a series of free artful lantern making workshops to provide an opportunity for Richmonders to participate in InLight. Visit www.1708gallery.org/inlight for a schedule of the workshops as well as easy step-by-step instructions for lanterns you can make at home.
