People of the Earth Foundation
will be Celebrating 15 Years
As a Native Grass Roots Organization here in Grants Pass since 1993. People of the Earth Foundation will be presenting the, "15th Annual Native American Arts Festival & Mothers Day Pow-Wow" on Saturday May 9,2009 and Sunday May 10,2009 in Riverside Park as part of the Amazing May celebration held each year.
Featuring special apperances by very talented performing Artists and Traditional People. Carla Gonzales will be our Master of Ceromonies.
The Fiesta America's 4H dance Group will be coming back this year, Raven Dancer and story telling, Elk Thunder Drum, and a special Grass dance performance by Lowicha.
Arts & Craft Booths. Giant Puppets, Fantasy Face Painting for the kids and adults. 50/50, winner take half and Raffle items. Coyote Kitchen preparing tamales, buffalo taquitos, indian tacos, fry bread, drinks and other delicious items.
The event is open 10am - 7pm each day. Saturday Grand Entry will be at 1pm. Watch beautiful dancers in different dance exhibitions. A Hand Drum Singing Contest. Participants must register by 5pm on Saturday during demonstration. Open to all ages. Finals at 5pm on Sunday. Prize will be awarded.
Living Earth Circle will present a, "Special Mothers Day" presentaion at 3pm on Sunday. Free flowers will be given out.
Invited Drum Groups that will be singing Round Dance songs, Inter-tribal songs, Honor songs and their will be a coming out song to welcome a knew dancer into the circle of life on Saturday right after the Opening Ceremony.
Seminars and workshop's on understanding the natural herbs and their uses in this area will be offered.
Come and join in on this years celebration and lot more activities we are planing. Sunday Grand Entry will be at 12 noon.
Volunteers needed to help. I am looking for anyone that wants to bring a tepee to set up during the festival to share. You can set them up on Friday, please bring one if you have one to set up.

Friday, May 8th from 6pm - 8pm there will be a lodge Honoring all Life of the World. The location is, 9042 Monument Drive, Merlin Oregon. Please bring a organic dish for the feast after wards. Lodge will be run by Jack Falls-Rock.
