This year’s race is guaranteed to be fun for the whole family. The 8K route winds through the neighborhoods around the Fairfax County Government Center and is held in conjunction with the Celebrate Fairfax! Festival. The race starts and ends on the Festival grounds. Whether you run the race or cheer on the runners, please stay to enjoy the sights and sounds of the fair. It will be an unforgettable day for the entire family!

About Alternative House

Alternative House – The Abused and Homeless Children’s Refuge provides support for at risk children, youth and families through counseling, shelter, crisis intervention, and outreach. It’s services include the Emergency Shelter for Teenagers, a short term shelter for young people who are homeless, runaways, abused or experiencing a family crisis; AYM (Assisting Young Mothers), an 18–month residential program for homeless pregnant and parenting young women and their babies; and Neighborhood-based Outreach services, providing street-based support, after-school programs and a drop in teen center for at-risk children and youth.

Before and After the Race

Fitness Together, www.fttysons.com, will be assisting with the pre-race warm-up and post race stretching for all participants of the 8K. Come on out and have some fun warming-up and then join us for a quick stretch or massage to help you in your recovery after the race.
