newZonia's charity event to benefit 142 Throckmorton Theatre and Black Rock Arts Foundation. The evening will host a film screening of "Voyage in Utopia" by Laurent Le Gall – a film about the scale and power of the Burning Man experience. The evening will also feature a myriad of entertainment including polynesian dancers, musical performances, theater performances, shoe painting, wine tasting and an art auction. There will be food and a cash bar. Featured artist are: Jenny Bird, Shrine, Mark Growden, Daniel Beaty, Bad Unkl Sista, Poetry Jukebox, Miranda Caroligne, Ka Ua Tuahine, Templeton Variety, Scott London, Maxx Mango and Ramada Vieira.
The mission of the Black Rock Arts Foundation is to support and promote community-based interactive art and civic participation. For our purposes, interactive art means art that generates social participation. The process whereby this art is created, the means by which it is displayed and the character of the work itself should inspire immediate actions that connect people to one another in a larger communal context.
