Don’t miss your chance to catch a rising star!
On Saturday April 4th, 2009, gifted young musicians from all over the world will be descending on Springfield, MO, to take part in the 13th Annual Hellam Young Artists' Competition. Founded in 1996 by Dr. Duane and Judy Hellam, under the auspices of the Springfield Symphony, the competition gives young musicians and vocalists the opportunity to compete for substantial cash prizes, and the winner, the opportunity to perform with the Springfield Symphony in a subscription concert the following season.
Students from such prestigious institutions as The Julliard School, The Peabody Institute and the Curtis Institute of Music are regular competitors. Furthermore, past participants have come from as far away as China, Russia, Japan, Brazil and Germany.
All rounds of the competition are FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
