I looove the capitol. I already have a set of pics from it. Hopefully, I'm not on call for work. Will check the calendar later.
My husband works at the capitol and I've ALWAYS wanted to take pictures there. I'm hoping to be free that day...it'll be my very first Flickr Photowalk!
Flickr is sending me some more stickers. I hope you can join us and receive some Flickr schwag, Mandeye!
@Mandey: What does your husband do? I have a friend that works there, and I'm in there often. I work in the NSOB.
My brother is an NU alum, and visited the capital back in the 70's, and highly recommended it as a photo opportunity. We shot the outside once, but I've never been inside. It will be a long drive from Manhattan, but hopefully I'll get there before it starts. Also my first Flickr Photowalk. Looking forward to it.
Wow, Buckwheat. That's a long way to come!
But I am sure it will be worth your while. Carl is kindly doing the leg-work so we can participate in a tour at the beginning (then walk through again at a slower pace). I also have a few Flickr pins for anyone new who attends. (Some stickers are on the way, though I'm wondering if they will arrive in time.)
Thanks for the update Sarah. To save time I have decided to leave Friday night and stay at the old family farmhouse, off of Hwy 34 between Lincoln and Omaha (just East of Hwy 50). That should cut a lot of travel time for Saturday. I enjoy my visits to the farm, and visit several times a year to "photowander" the countryside, ususally with my brother. He might have made this trip, all the way from Kansas City, if he hadn't ended up on crutches recently. Crutches, photo gear, and a walking tour doesn't sound like a winning combo. Anyone have any ideas on how much travel time I should allow from the intersection of Hwy 34 and Hwy 50 to the Capital? I'm not very familar with Lincoln streets or traffic. See you all Saturday. Regards, Steven.
