Sunday, December 18th for the fifth annual Kicks For Kids Charity Shoe Drive! The Kicks for Kids shoe drive program is a collaborative community effort to help support children less fortunate or in need in the DC Metropolitan area by way of sneakers! There are plenty of holiday coat drives, toy drives and can food drives that bring positive holiday cheer, but very rarely do you see an initiative that focuses on our feet. Last year, your raised donations purchased over 400 pairs of new kids sneakers that were later donated to the Children’s National Medical Center (200 pairs), So Others Might Eat (S.O.M.E.) Organization (100 pairs) & R&B Star Mya’s Art & Tech Foundation (100 pairs). This year, we are partnering with the Children’s National Medical Center again with plans to provide for youth spending their Christmas holiday in the hospital. In addition, we will donate sneakers to the National Children’s Center, with facilities in SE, DC & NE, DC, whose mission is to provide a lifetime of opportunities for people in our community with developmental disabilities to live full, meaningful and productive lives.
