This month we'll have some fantastic photography subjects. Bird banding demonstrations will be happening all morning at the Pioneers Park Nature Center. (cost: free!) We'll have an opportunity to see some of the migratory birds that come through the area and the year-round ones and learn a bit about this nationwide project.
Additionally, we'll explore a bit of the nature center. Outdoor animal exhibits include bison, elk, and white-tailed deer herds, non-releasable raptors, vultures, and wild turkeys. There's numerous trails and waterways. Take a look at the map of the park. We'll definitely be coming back here again!
We'll spend about 2 hours at the nature area then go for lunch somewhere (correct me if I'm wrong on this, Sarah).
The meeting point is TBD. We'll post it as soon as we figure one out! If anyone is interested in biking to the nature center from an in-town location, please get in touch with Sarah R.

Okay I went to watching and now I'm back to attending. I may be late. If so, I'll call Sarah and find ya'll. :)

HELLO ALL! If you're planning to come, have you RSVP'd? :) And please accept my apologies for my online absence, as I've been dealing with some commitments requiring a lot of my time.
Tomorrow we will MEET AT THE BISON STATUE, at the East entrance to the park, just off of Coddington Ave. We will move to a few different areas of the park during our visit, so there will be a couple occasions where we drive/ride during the two hour walk (just so y'all are aware). By 12:15 p.m., we shall go to Lee's Restaurant (at intersection of S Coddington Ave & W Van Dorn St) for lunch.
Anyone wishing to bike to the park, meet at The Mill (N 8th St & P St) at 9 a.m. and we will depart by 9:15 a.m. (barring any complications, we should arrive about 15 minutes early). Check out the route - just over 4 miles, not too far at all!
